So what is a Celebrant anyway?

So here goes my first blog as a Celebrant. Back to basics….what’s a Celebrant? So I’m trying to reduce the number of puzzled faces here! If I had to choose one word to sum up a Celebrant ceremony it would be PERSONALISED. If you have your ceremony conducted by a Celebrant it means it will be totally unique to you. There will be no restrictions with the content of your ceremony, time or the venue you want to use. Did you know with a Celebrant you can have any readings you want and will even be able to write your own vows? Celebrants will spend a long time with you on the day of your wedding and will usually be available for as long as you want them!

Celebrants conduct weddings, funerals, baby namings and renewal of vows. People use them to have total FREEDOM to have the ceremony they want and not one pulled off the shelf! Celebrants spend time getting to know you well so that the script they write reflects your personalities and includes YOUR personal story. We all have a backstory that we want to share with the world! Celebrants can include ANYTHING you want including religious references.

So if you are stuck at an impasse with your family or in-laws who want something specific included, or you just want something that is personal to YOU, a Celebrant is definitely the way to go.

There is the legal side to consider and these are covered under my “Want to know a Secret?” blog.

Whoever said you can’t always get what you want, hasn’t met a Celebrant! So what are you waiting for…?
